Conversation Groups
Conversation Groups
Conversation groups are a relaxed, low-pressure space to practice speaking Portuguese — no textbook drills, just real conversation. Each session is built around a topic chosen to spark genuine discussion: a short film, a viral clip, a current event, a cultural debate. You'll hear Portuguese as it's actually spoken, with all its natural rhythm, slang, and regional flavor.
This format works well for anyone who already has some base in the language and wants to use it more — build confidence, react in the moment, and get comfortable speaking without the safety net of a lesson plan. Groups bring together speakers of different backgrounds and levels, which means you're not just listening to a teacher, but to a range of real voices and perspectives.
What to expect
discussion-driven sessions, not grammar instruction
topics drawn from authentic media and current events
a mixed group of learners and heritage speakers
steady gains in fluency, spontaneity, and listening comprehension
A themed conversation group built entirely around Brazilian music — lyrics, artists, genres, and the stories and culture behind them. Each session dives into a song or theme as a starting point for conversation, listening practice, and cultural discovery, from bossa nova to MPB to funk and beyond.
Open to learners with some existing base in Portuguese
