In this workshop, you'll learn and practice real, spoken Portuguese the way Brazilians actually use it — through the songs that have shaped the country for over a century.
We're going to work on vocabulary, pronunciation, listening comprehension, and getting a feel for how Portuguese actually sounds and flows.
Who it's for
This workshop is designed for adult learners of Portuguese as a foreign language, ideally with some basic Portuguese.

Why learn Portuguese this way?
Music is one of the most effective ways to acquire a language: it trains your ear, builds vocabulary naturally, and makes new words stick because they come with a melody attached. Instead of memorizing lists, you'll absorb Portuguese the way it's actually spoken and felt.

Each session takes one song — from early 20th-century samba to today's biggest Brazilian hits — and turns it into a complete language lesson:
Listen and train your ear for natural rhythm and pronunciation
Learn new vocabulary and expressions straight from the lyrics
Understand grammar in context, not in isolation
Speak through guided discussion and short exercises based on the song
You'll leave every session with new words, better listening skills, and a song stuck in your head — the good kind of stuck.

Material
We won't be using textbooks for this workshop. Just bring a notebook and pen (or whatever you like to take notes with), plus your love and enthusiasm to sing and speak Portuguese. If you'd like to bring your own instrument, you're more than welcome!
